Punjab STF caught UP smuggler with 2.5 kg heroin, got ‘Crime Intelligence Force’ written on the car to avoid police.

STF has busted the gang smuggling heroin and opium and arrested three smugglers. The police had earlier arrested a smuggler. After questioning him, STF has reached the third smuggler.

Madhur Gupta, the third accomplice of the smugglers, was arrested on Thursday evening by blocking the Shambhu border near Ambala. He was coming from UP with a supply of drugs in Swift Dzire.

To avoid the police, he had put a sticker of Crime Intelligence Force on the glass of the car. During the search 2.550 grams of heroin, 5 kg of opium, and drug money of Rs 66,500 were recovered from the car.

All the accused were presented in the court after registering a case in STF Mohali, from where a three-day remand is being obtained and rigorous interrogation is being done.

Punjab STF caught UP smuggler: STF is tracing the customers and other associates of the accused.

Inspector Harbans Singh said that on October 18, STF had arrested a smuggler from Shiv Chowk in front of Cancer Hospital.

The accused was identified as Mangat Singh (55) of Satjot Nagar, Dhandharan Road.

One kilo 50 grams of heroin, one and a half kilograms of opium, and drug money of Rs 14,500 were recovered from his possession.

After interrogating him, on October 20, the STF raided the house of Dugri Phase-1 resident Satinder Singh (57) and arrested him.

500 grams of opium and Rs 52,000 drug money were recovered from his office in his house.

After interrogating him, the name of Madhur Gupta (23), a resident of Baliyan village located in the police station Bhamora of Bareilly (Uttar Pradesh), came to the fore.

He told that Madhur is bringing heroin and opium in his car from UP.

Accused Madhur’s father was also a smuggler.

Harbans Singh told that earlier Madhur’s father Sanjay Gupta used to work in drug smuggling. But now Madhur is doing this work for the last three years.

He would come to Punjab with narcotics from the car itself and go back after delivery. There is already a case registered against him in UP.

Mangat and Satinder are addicted to opium.

Mangat Singh was earlier working as a property dealer. Earlier also a case of Arms Act and gambling was registered against him. He is smuggling drugs for the last 5 years.

He himself is addicted to consuming opium. Satinder Singh Wasika is a Navis. He is addicted to consuming opium for about 15 years.
