The third match of the four-match Test series at the Sydney Cricket Ground between India and hosts Australia is going on.

The game continues for the fourth day of the match on Sunday 10 January. The Australian team scored 312 runs in their second innings losing 5 wickets in 87 overs and thus the hosts had a lead of 406 runs.

Australia then announced the innings. In such a situation, India will have to score 407 runs to win.

In response to this, India has scored 92 runs after losing 1 wicket in 30 overs. Currently at the crease are Rohit Sharma and Cheteshwar Pujara.

By the end of the third day of the match, the Australian team had scored 103 runs losing 2 wickets in 29 overs. In this way, the Kangaroo team had a lead of 197 runs.

Earlier in this match, the Australian team won the toss and elected to bat first and scored 338 runs on the basis of Steve Smith’s century.

In response, the Indian team was piled up by scoring 244 runs in the first innings. In this way, the host team had a phenomenal lead of 94 runs, which can be decisive.

Australia’s second innings, Smith’s half-century

The Australian team lost the third wicket of their second innings of the match as Marnus Labushane. Labushane smashed 73 off 118 balls. Navdeep Saini caught him out by Wriddhiman Saha.

Australia got the fourth blow in the second innings as Matthew Wade, who scored 4 runs, was caught out by Saha off the ball of Navdeep Saini.

Steve Smith hit a half-century in 134 balls. He scored a century in the first innings of the same match. However, he was dismissed after playing an innings of 81 runs. He was lbw out by R Ashwin.

Cameron Green then hit his first half-century. He scored 84 runs and was caught by Saha off Jasprit Bumrah. Australia then declared the innings.
