The First Toy Cluster Of India To Be Built In Karnataka

The first toy cluster of India to be built in Karnataka, 1 lakh people will get employment.

The Karnataka government has laid the foundation stone of the country’s first toy manufacturing cluster in Bhanapur village of Koppal district on Saturday.

Its construction work is expected to be completed by December this year. According to the government, investment of up to Rs 5,000 crore is expected in this cluster spread over 400 acres of land.

This will provide direct employment to around 30,000 people.

Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yeddyurappa said that the cluster would have more than 100 toy manufacturing units. This will also create around one lakh jobs indirectly.

According to him, there has been large participation of women in the toy manufacturing industry. Therefore, this cluster will also promote women’s empowerment.

The CM said that women would be given priority for employment in the manufacturing cluster at Koppal. He said that women who are earning Rs 200 per day will be able to earn Rs 600 per day.

He said that the toy manufacturing industry is labor-oriented and most of the workers are women. Therefore, this toy cluster started in Koppal is a big step towards empowering women.

The Chief Minister said that to empower women, the Government of Karnataka has allowed them to work even at night. Karnataka is the third-largest market for toys in India.

It has a size of $ 159 million and a 9.1 percent share in the country’s toy market.

Bhanapur village in Koppal district, 365 km from Bengaluru, has a population of less than 2,000.

In line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Vocal for Local’ vision, Kopla will become India’s first toy manufacturing cluster to promote toy manufacturing.

Yeddyurappa said that the construction of the complex is expected to be completed by December this year. If that happens, we will invite Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Industry Minister Jagdish Shettar said that the foundation of this toy cluster has played an important role in opening up the toy-making potential of Karnataka.

Of this, 80 percent of the jobs will be given to the locals of Koppal and people from other parts of the state. We will give a margin of 10-20 percent to the workforce from outside the state.
