S Jaishankar, India And China Have To Reach Some Understanding
S Jaishankar said, at present, it is necessary for India and China to reach some understanding. At the US-India Strategic Partnership Forum (US-India Strategic Partnership Forum, USISPF) annual summit, Foreign Minister S Jaishankar has said that the India-China relationship is very important for the world.
In such a situation, it is important for both countries to reach an understanding of balance. Like other countries of the world, India is well versed in the development of China. As a neighbor, India has also been directly affected by this but India’s progress is also significant. The External Affairs Minister was answering questions related to the rise of China and the impact on its relationship with India.
On the four-month-old border dispute between the Indian and Chinese armies in eastern Ladakh, he said that it has affected all relations including trade and investment. Citing his book, the Foreign Minister said that obviously if you are a neighbor, you will be directly affected by the rise that I have said in my book.
The Foreign Minister’s statement comes at a time when there is a tussle between the Indian and Chinese forces in eastern Ladakh. He said that if you look at the past 30 years, India’s progress is also a global story. If you have two countries there are two societies with a population of billions. If there is history, there is culture, then it is important that there is some kind of understanding or balance between them.
When asked about the relationship between China and Pakistan, the Foreign Minister said that China’s relations with Pakistan are going on until the early 60s. Many aspects of this have been a concern for us in the past. Regarding India’s relations with the US, the Foreign Minister said that various sectors like trade, investment, technology, defense, and security have strengthened.
