Satya Nadella Became The Chairman Of Microsoft

Satya Nadella became the chairman of Microsoft, took so many years to travel from server room to board room, know the complete biography.

Microsoft has appointed its Indian-origin CEO Satya Nadella as the President of the company. He will take the additional role of “leading in setting the board’s agenda.”

Microsoft Corp. announced Wednesday that the board’s independent directors unanimously elected Nadella to the role of chairman of the board.

Nadella, 53,  will take Thompson’s place as Chief Independent Director. Nadella succeeded Steve Ballmer as the CEO of Microsoft in 2014.

In addition, John W. Thompson was elected Chief Independent Director. He had played this role in the past from 2012 to 2014 as well.

Nadella will lead the agenda-setting work for the board, developing its own business practices to take advantage of the right strategic opportunities and identify key risks and mitigate their impact,” the company said in a statement.

Satya Nadella had a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Manipal Institute of Technology, Manipal.

He then earned a master’s degree in computer science from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. Along with this, he has also studied from The University of Chicago Booth School of Business.

According to Nadella’s LinkedIn profile, he has been a Fred Hutch since 2016 and a board member of Starbucks since January 2017.

He has been on the Member Board of Trustees of the University of Chicago since September 2018. Nadella became the CEO of Microsoft in the year 2014. He replaced Steve Ballmer.

Prior to that Nadella was EVP of Microsoft’s Cloud and Enterprise Group. According to the profile of Nadella available on Forbes, they have three children.
