Second Anniversary Of The Pulwama Terror Attack

Second anniversary of the Pulwama terror attack, the country is remembering the sacrifice of CRPF soldiers.

Today is the second anniversary of the Pulwama terror attack. Today, the country is remembering the sacrifice of CRPF jawans.

Two years after the Pulwama terror attack, the country still remembers the day when a suicide bomber rammed an IED-laden vehicle into a bus carrying security forces. 40 CRPF personnel were killed in this terrorist attack.

The Pakistan-based terrorist organization Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) claimed responsibility for the brutal terrorist attack.

The attack on the CRPF convoy occurred on 14 February 2019 in the Pulwama district of Jammu and Kashmir.

A 22-year-old suicide bomber, Adil Ahmed Dar, rammed an explosive-laden vehicle into the bus. The CRPF convoy had 78 buses in which around 2500 soldiers were going from Jammu to Srinagar.

A few days after the Pulwama terror attack, India launched an Airstrike attack on Jaish-e-Mohammed’s terrorist training camp in Balakot, Pakistan.

After this terrorist attack, India withdrew Pakistan’s Most Favored Nation (MFN) status. The international community had expressed its strong support to India in the wake of the terrorist attack.

A memorial to the names of all 40 soldiers killed in this terrorist attack was inaugurated on 14 February 2020 at the CRPF training center at Lethpora camp in Pulwama.

The memorial is inscribed with the names and photographs of all the 40 soldiers martyred in the Pulwama attack and the CRPF’s motto- “Seva aur Nishtha” (service and loyalty).

Remembering the sacrifices of the brave, the countrymen paid tribute to the soldiers, who laid down their lives for the nation.

#PulwamaAttack is currently trending on Twitter with around 25,000 tweets. Today, people across the country are remembering the sacrifice of the brave sons of Mother India.

CRPF salutes its soldiers
