The soldiers retaliated and entangled them in the encounter. Two terrorists were killed yesterday only. Shaukat also tried to run away seeing the opportunity, but he was killed in the cross-firing.

Four terrorists, including Shaukat and three Pakistani terrorists, were killed in the encounter that lasted till the early hours of Monday.

Among them, Bambar Khan, Allabakhsh, and Aftab Bhai were all Pakistanis. Shaukat Ahmed Sheikh was a resident of Shopian.

All four terrorists were associated with Lashkar-e-Taiba. Six magazines, two assault rifles, one M-4 rifle, and three live grenades were recovered from the encounter site.
