Sixteen Thousand Indians Brought Back Under Operation Ganga

Sixteen thousand Indians were brought back under Operation Ganga, eight special flights likely to operate today.

So far, more than 15,920 Indians have been brought back by 76 flights under Operation Ganga, being run after the Russian attack on Ukraine.

So far, 10 Indian Air Force aircraft have also taken off and they have transported 26 tonnes of relief material.

The Indian Embassy in Hungary has told that the operation to evacuate the Indians is about to end as the last phase of this operation is starting.

Ukraine closed its airspace to civilian flights after the Russian attack.

Since then, Indians stranded there are reaching neighboring countries Romania, Poland, Hungary, Slovakia, and Moldova and brought them back from there.

The Civil Aviation Ministry said that 2,135 Indians were brought back on Sunday through 11 special flights. Eight special flights are likely to operate on Monday to bring back more than 1,500 Indians.

 Asked to report at designated contact points.

The Indian Embassy in Hungary made an important announcement on Twitter asking the stranded Indians to report at the designated contact points for their return to India.

Similarly, the Indian Embassy in Ukraine has also asked all Indians stranded in the war zone to immediately fill up an online form seeking their latest location and other details.

19,920 Indians have reached India.

Officials said that more than 21,000 Indians have come out of Ukraine since the first advisory was issued. Of these, 19,920 Indians have reached India.

Six consignments of humanitarian aid have been sent to Ukraine in the past and on Sunday another consignment of six tonnes of humanitarian aid was dispatched by Air Force aircraft.

As of Sunday afternoon, 12,435 calls and 9,026 emails had been attended in the control room set up in the Ministry of External Affairs.

Two teams reaching Poland and Romania border.

The Indian Embassy in Ukraine said on Sunday that a group of 44 Indians, who started their journey from Pesochin, have left for the Poland border from Lviv.

While another group of more than 150 Indians has left for the Romanian border.
