SMC Secretary Mohammad Akbar Sophie Suspended From job

SMC secretary Sophie, who runs an anti-national blog in Kashmir, was suspended from his job, his son’s China connection is being investigated.

The Srinagar Municipal Corporation(SMC) has suspended the secretary Mohammad Akbar Sofi, who released a hit list of politicians, intellectuals, media persons, and social workers who stood with India.

He has a blog in the name of Kashmirfights.wordpress.com. Meanwhile, security agencies have started to trace the China connections of her son Tabish.

The officials are also being investigated who gave CID clearance to Sophie for a government job.

Mobile phones and digital devices recovered from Sophie & Co are being sent to Chandigarh for forensic examination.

Investigating officers said that on the basis of the interrogation of Mohammad Akbar Sofi and his associates, some more people have been identified.

Their activities are being investigated. Some more arrests may be made in the coming days. Contents justifying terrorism and separatism in Kashmir are served on the Kashmir Fights blog.

On this, information is made public about such people working for the country in Kashmir who directly or indirectly oppose the separatist agenda.

The names on the blog are considered in the hit list of terrorists.

The names of journalist Shujaat Bukhari, Advocate Babar Qadri, businessman Satpal Nischal were first published in this blog and then these people became victims of terrorists’ bullets.

The police were looking for the elements running this blog since the year 2018. It was banned in India in view of the anti-national content being published on the blog.

In Kothibagh, Srinagar, an FIR has been lodged against this blog four times in the last four years.

The police, achieving a major success on Saturday, arrested five people including Peerzada Rakif Makhdoomi, the secretary of the Srinagar Municipal Corporation.

Mohammad Akbar Sofi, his daughter Najish Yasrab, son Tabish, Nazish’s future husband Khalid Javed.

According to the police, these five were running this blog. Police have recovered 32 mobile phones, two laptops, tablets, a dozen pen drives and memory cards, hard disks from their possession.

Sophie is originally from Arihal Pulwama in South Kashmir. 889 pages have also been found from him.

Many objectionable things have been written about various people, who have been termed as Indian agents and enemies of Kashmir.

The police officer said that investigation has revealed that Sophie’s daughter has studied law from Jammu, while the son is a B.Tech degree holder.

SMC secretary Sophie has been to Dubai, Saudi Arabia, London many times.

He went to London with his second wife in the year 2019, while his son has been to China about five times before the crisis of the Corona epidemic started.

Why did he go to China, who has been meeting people there, it is being investigated. Nazish and Tabish live with their first wife.

Sofi has accumulated assets worth around Rs 300 crore. It is being ascertained whether he was limited to running blogs only or was also active in terror funding.
