Swapna Suresh knocks on the door of Kerala High Court: Kerala Gold Smuggling Case.
Swapna Suresh, the main accused in the Kerala gold smuggling case, approached the Kerala High Court on Monday. In the petition, he has sought quashing of the case against himself.
Police have registered a case against Swapna for inciting riots and criminal conspiracy. The case was registered on June 8 based on a complaint by MLA and former Kerala minister KT Jalil.
The petition states that the complaint lodged against Swapna Suresh is false and malicious.
Suresh has accused Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan, his wife Kamala, his daughter Veena, MLA, KT Jaleel, former Speaker of Kerala Legislative Assembly P Sriramakrishnan, IAS Nalini Neto, and Sivashankar of indulging in anti-national activities in the petition.
It is said that this is a clear case of an attempt to intimidate the petitioner.
Vijayan making every effort to stop probe: BJP.
The BJP on Monday alleged that Vijayan was doing everything possible to obstruct the probe. The party said Vijayan was doing this because he and his family were under suspicion.
Addressing a press conference at the BJP headquarters, Union ministers Rajeev Chandrasekhar and V Muraleedharan alleged that he was using the state machinery to stall the investigation in the case.
Muraleedharan said, what we have been seeing in Kerala since last week is unprecedented. Black color has been banned in the state. Fascism is at its peak in the state.
Vijayan is scared of people: Ramesh Chennithala.
Congress leader Ramesh Chennithala hit out at Vijayan, saying the chief minister was scared of people. People’s freedom and peace are being played with.
He said this is the first time in history that black apparel has been banned in Kerala. The chief minister is afraid to step outside because of the protests.
Meanwhile, the protests demanding the resignation of the Chief Minister continued for the third day on Monday.
