Team India Lost In The First ODI: Ind vs SA

Team India lost in the first ODI, Shikhar Dhawan told this reason: Ind vs SA.

Like Test matches, KL Rahul’s captaincy debut in ODIs too was disappointing. India suffered a 31-run defeat in the first ODI against hosts South Africa in Paarl.

After the loss, opener batsman Shikhar Dhawan on Wednesday said the team’s loss in bunches in the first ODI against South Africa.

Centuries from captain Temba Bavuma and Rasi van der Dussen and a 204-run stand for the fourth wicket between the two saw South Africa batting first, scoring 296 for four.

Chasing the target, the Indian team could only reach 265 for eight despite half-centuries from Shikhar Dhawan, Virat Kohli, and Shardul Thakur.

Team India lost in the first ODI: Dhawan said in the post-match virtual press conference, “We advise the youth to play according to the situation and keep the team ahead.

The partnership is important and I am sure they will continue to learn with experience. We got off to a good start, the wicket was slow and it was giving a little turn.

When you are chasing 300, you cannot go after the ball as soon as it comes to the crease. It’s not easy. We lost wickets in bunches and it affected our game.

I only thought of playing according to the merit of the ball. It was not like other South African pitches. I found the flow, so I just wanted to go ahead with that.’

When asked about mental preparation before the series, Dhawan said, “I don’t listen to the media or watch the news.

That way I don’t take any information. I have confidence in my abilities and I stay calm. This is part of the game. It only makes me stronger.’

After being beaten in the first ODI against South Africa, captain KL Rahul told the reason for the defeat, said surprising things

KL Rahul said that it was a good match and there is a lot to learn from it. We started really well but couldn’t take wickets in the middle.

We would like to see how we get wickets in the middle overs and stop the opposition. Our middle-order batsmen couldn’t move.

Although we were level in the first 20-25 overs of the match. I thought we would chase this target easily but South Africa bowled really well and got wickets at crucial times.
