Telangana govt runs a special vaccination drive for journalists, will be able to get vaccines on May 28 and 29.

The Telangana govt is running a special Covid-19 vaccination drive for all accredited journalists across the state.

Under this, journalists will be able to avail this facility on 28 and 29 May. Journalists are required to carry an Aadhaar card at the vaccination centers and a validation card issued by the department.

An official release quoting Arvind Kumar, Commissioner of Information and Public Relations Department, said that the journalists would have to reach the vaccination center indicated with the Aadhaar card and the recognition card issued by the department.

Telangana govt runs a special vaccination drive for journalists: Arvind Kumar said that about twenty thousand journalists in the state are recognized by the Information and Public Relations Department, of which about 3,700 are state-level journalists.

The list of designated vaccination centers in the districts is available with the concerned District Public Relations Officers. For state journalists, five vaccination centers have been created.

These include Press Club Somajiguda, Press Club Basheerbagh, MCRHRD Institute Jubilee Hills, Unani Hospital Charminar, and Area Hospital Vanasthalipuram.

The state government has appealed to journalists to take advantage of this facility and get vaccinated.

At the same time, limited vaccine slots appearing online are booked soon after they become available.

The state government had earlier plans to pursue the vaccine program, but due to problems in supply from the center, the program derailed.

According to a report in media, the Center had announced that it would not provide vaccines for the 18-44 age group to the states. State governments will have to arrange these on their own.

After this, Kerala has stopped the supply of vaccines from private hospitals since May 1, and now the vaccination campaign is going on only in a few government hospitals.
