The news agency quoted sources as saying that Mistry was living in Karachi under a fake identity for many years. He was doing furniture work in the Akhtar Colony of Karachi.

With the killing of Zahoor, only two of the five Jaish-e-Mohammed hijackers in Pakistan are now alive, including Masood Azhar’s elder brother Ibrahim Azhar and another terrorist Rauf Asghar.

On December 25, 1999, 25-year-old Rupin Katyal was brutally murdered by Zahoor Mistry and his body was recovered from a hijacked plane in the United Arab Emirates.

On the day of the kidnapping, Rupin Katyal was returning to Delhi with his wife after their honeymoon in Kathmandu.

According to reports, Zahoor was associated with the terrorist organization Jaish-e-Mohammed and was hiding in Pakistan as a businessman.
