He was involved in the hijacking of Air India aircraft IC-814 in the year 1999. Akhund was the owner of Crescent Furniture located inside the Akhtar Colony of Karachi.

Like Zahoor, many top terrorists have taken refuge in Pakistan.

The news agency quoted sources as saying that Mistry was living in Karachi under a fake identity for many years. He was doing furniture work in the Akhtar Colony of Karachi.

According to reports, many terrorists have participated in his last journey. Pak media has confirmed this report.

With the killing of Zahoor, only two of the five Jaish-e-Mohammed hijackers in Pakistan are now alive, including Masood Azhar’s elder brother Ibrahim Azhar and another terrorist Rauf Asghar.

On December 25, 1999, 25-year-old Rupin Katyal was brutally murdered by Zahoor Mistry and his body was recovered from a hijacked plane in the United Arab Emirates.

On the day of the kidnapping, Rupin Katyal was returning to Delhi with his wife after their honeymoon in Kathmandu.

According to reports, Zahoor was associated with the terrorist organization Jaish-e-Mohammed and was hiding in Pakistan as a businessman.

The two attackers who attacked this terrorist of Jaish had come by bike. Both these attackers have been seen in the CCTV footage. Both of them had masks on their faces, so they could not be identified.

Indian aircraft hijacked on 24 December 1999

Indian Airlines plane IC-814 was captured by hijackers on 24 December 1999 from Kathmandu, the capital of Nepal.

The plane was to go from Kathmandu to Delhi, but the hijackers took it to Kandahar, Afghanistan.

At that time Afghanistan was ruled by the Taliban. Before the plane landed in Kandahar, it was also taken to Amritsar, Lahore, and Dubai.
