For this, he had also placed an IED in a steel box in Gogo street near the airport, but the security forces not only detected this IED in time but also rejected it with the help of a bomb disposal squad.

An IED was spotted by security forces while patrolling the area on Tuesday morning in the Humhama area of ​​Airport Road in central Kashmir’s district Budgam, police said.

Security forces sealed the area after discovering that the IED was planted in a steel container weighing about 6 kg near Gogo street in the Humhama area.

People living nearby were shifted to safer places while the bomb disposal squad was called to the spot. The team reached the spot and investigated the IED.

The police officer says that this IED weighing six kg could have proved to be very dangerous. If it exploded, it would have caused a lot of damage to the people living nearby.

Terrorists plan to blast Srinagar airport: Due to its proximity to the airport, there is frequent movement of security forces.

The Bomb Disposal Squad skilfully removed it without any loss of life or property. Police say that there is a constant movement of security forces in this area.

From this, it is clear that this IED, which was already prepared, has been released here in time. The police are also examining the footage of CCTVs installed in the nearby localities.

Police officials say that the vigilance of the security forces once again averted a major accident. Security has been beefed up in the vicinity of the airport.
