An IED was spotted by security forces while patrolling the area on Tuesday morning in the Humhama area of ​​Airport Road in central Kashmir’s district Budgam, police said.

Security forces sealed the area after discovering that the IED was planted in a steel container weighing about 6 kg near Gogo street in the Humhama area.

People living nearby were shifted to safer places while the bomb disposal squad was called to the spot. The team reached the spot and investigated the IED.

The police officer says that this IED weighing six kg could have proved to be very dangerous. If it exploded, it would have caused a lot of damage to the people living nearby.

The Bomb Disposal Squad skilfully removed it without any loss of life or property. Police say that there is a constant movement of security forces in this area.
