Tunnels are being built under the Zojila tunnel project. One of them is the six-and-a-half-kilometer-long Z-Mod tunnel. It is about 68 kilometers from Srinagar, beyond Gund, and in Gagangir before Sonamarg. With the construction of this tunnel, the route to Sonamarg, which used to remain closed in winters beyond Gund, will become an all-weather route and a journey of about an hour will be reduced to 15 minutes.
The tunnel being built by a company called APCO was planned to be opened in September, but due to incomplete work, it has not been restored for traffic. In a statement that went viral on the internet media, TRF said that this attack was carried out by its Falcon Squad. This attack is on a project worth crores of rupees which is being built mainly for military purposes.
This project is being built on our land. In its statement, TRF has threatened more such attacks in the future, terming external and local issues and India’s right over Jammu and Kashmir as illegal. On Monday night, PAFF also issued a statement and said that this attack is on a project that is necessary for the Indian Army in Kashmir and Ladakh and is against our and our friend China’s military interests.

Kashmir affairs expert Syed Amjad Shah said that the way TRF and PAFF have issued statements, it becomes clear that the Pakistani Army and Pakistani intelligence agency ISI are using terrorist organizations and their cadres in Kashmir for their purpose. Till yesterday, these terrorist organizations used to call themselves Kashmiri organizations.

Sajjad Gul’s name is coming to the fore
Another expert on Kashmir affairs, Bilal Bashir, said that the name of TRF commander Sajjad Gul was taken less than three years ago, but his name is being taken in the Ganderbal attack. He went to Pakistan from Kashmir about seven years ago and there he prepared TRF along with Sajjad Jat and Langriyal of Lashkar. Cases of 20-25 murders and other terror attacks will be registered against him here in Kashmir.
The Home Ministry has also issued a notice against him and there is a reward of Rs 10 lakh on him. He is a resident of downtown Srinagar and for the last four years, his family has moved to the HMT area. Sajjad Gul had journalist Shujaat Bukhari killed in Srinagar in the year 2018. Sajjad Gul was in Pakistan at that time and he had conspired for the murder from there.
