Two Grenade Attacks By Terrorists In Kashmir, Kashmiri Hindu And Policemen Injured: Grenade Attacks In Srinagar.
Terrorists carried out two grenade attacks amidst tight security arrangements made in the valley on Monday in view of Independence Day.
Two people including a Kashmiri Hindu and a policeman were injured. The first attack took place at Gopalpora in Budgam district and the second at the police control room in Srinagar.
The Resistance Front (TRF), known as the Lashkar-e-Taiba’s hit squad, has claimed responsibility for the attacks.
To nab the terrorists involved in these attacks, the police along with the CRPF personnel have conducted two separate search operations.
There have been three grenade attacks in Kashmir during the last 24 hours.
Earlier last night, terrorists had attacked the displaced Kashmiri Hindu Transit Colony located in Pulwama, South Kashmir with a grenade. There was no damage in this attack.
According to the information received here, the terrorists attacked the security forces with a grenade after sunset in the Gopalpora of Budgam district today.
The grenade fell on the road away from the security forces and in the blast, Karan Kumar Singh’s son Anil Kumar Singh was injured. He has grenade shrapnel in his legs and sides.
Local people took him to the hospital for treatment with the help of security forces where his condition is said to be stable and out of danger.
According to some people, the terrorists threw the grenade at the colony of Kashmiri Hindus there, but the police have not confirmed this fact.
Minutes after the grenade attack in Budgam, around 9 o’clock in the night, terrorists attacked the police control room in Srinagar with a grenade.
The grenade fell on the exterior of the control room and exploded with a loud bang. A policeman was injured in this. He has been admitted to a nearby hospital for treatment.
The police have started the investigation by registering separate cases in connection with these two incidents.
To nab the terrorists involved in these attacks, the security forces also conducted a search operation in Gopalpora and Batmaloo, Karannagar, Aloochibagh, and Magarmalbagh areas of Srinagar.
