US Election 2020: What If There Is A Dispute In The US Election

US Election 2020: What if there is a dispute in the US election

President Donald Trump on Wednesday declared victory over Democratic candidates, despite not having fully declared an American election.

Confirmation of the premature result in the election has raised concern. The Democratic Party had voiced for weeks that Trump wanted to dispute the election results.

If there is a dispute, the President, the courts, the state leaders, and the Congress will play the main role. In such a situation, now elections can be fought in various ways. This may delay the election results.

Legal battle – Early voting data shows that Democrats have voted by far more numbers than Republicans. In states like Pennsylvania and Wisconsin, which matched these ballots until election day did not count.

Initial results here appeared in favor of Trump, as he was slow to count postal ballots. Democrats had expressed concern that Trump on Wednesday announced the victory before the ballot box was fully counted.

Litigation can occur if there is a close contest over voting and counting procedures. The case can go up to the Supreme Court.

Cases filed in individual states may eventually reach the US Supreme Court, as did the Florida election in 2000 when Republican George W. Bush won over Democrat Al Gore by just 537 votes in Florida.

This was stayed by the High Court. Trump-appointed Amy Connie Barrett as a Supreme Court judge just days before the election with a 6-3 conservative majority. If the court contested, they can take the side of the president.

Trump said on Wednesday that we want the law to be used appropriately, so we are going to the US Supreme Court. We want all voting to stop. Many states regularly take several days to legally finish counting ballots.

Even though the American states require all votes to count the election and many states have regularly taken several days to complete the counting of ballots.

Well-known American lawyer Barry Richard has said that this time there will be postal votes at the root of the legal dispute. Barry Richard has been a lawyer for George W. Bush in the 2000 presidential election legal dispute.

He said the case was different in many ways when there was a flaw in the design of the ballot in Florida and there were also legal mistakes, which were the basis of the lawsuit.

This time the Supreme Court will readily accept this case unless it is absolutely necessary to do so.

The magical figure of an electoral college is very important

In the US, it is considered important to achieve the magical figure of electoral votes to become president. The total electoral number in the US is 538.

Of these, the one who wins 270 votes will become the President. California has the largest number of 55 electors, while some states such as Wyoming, Alaska, and North Dakota have a minimum of three electoral.
