Vice Admiral R Hari Kumar Will Be The Next Navy Chief

Vice Admiral R Hari Kumar will be the next Chief of the Indian Navy, will take over on November 30.

The Central Government has appointed Vice Admiral R. Hari Kumar has been appointed as the next Navy Chief. He is currently the Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Western Naval Command.

He will take over his new office on November 30. This information has been given by the Ministry of Defense.

Born on April 12, 1962, Vice Admiral R. Hari Kumar was commissioned into the Executive Branch of the Indian Navy on January 1, 1983.

It is to be known that at present the command of the Navy is in the hands of Admiral Karambir Singh.

Vice Admiral R Hari Kumar’s work so far.

During his long and distinguished service of nearly 39 years, he has served in various Command, Staff, and Instructional appointments.

Vice Admiral R. Hari Kumar’s C command includes INS Nishank, Missile Corvette, INS Kora, and Guided Missile Destroyer INS Ranvir.

He also commended the Indian Navy’s aircraft carrier INS Viraat. He served as the Fleet Operations Officer of the Western Fleet.

Prior to taking over as FOC-in-C, Western Naval Command, he was the head of the Integrated Staff Committee of Headquarters IDS.

Vice Admiral R. Hari Kumar has done courses from Naval War College US, Army War College Mhow, and Royal College of Defense Studies UK.

Vice Admiral R. Hari Kumar has been awarded Param Vishisht Seva Medal (PVSM), Ati Vishisht Seva Medal (AVSM), and Vishisht Seva Medal (VSM).

Other appointments.

In addition, senior Indian Police Service officers Sheel Vardhan Singh and Atul Karwal were on Tuesday appointed as the chiefs of the CISF and the NDRF, respectively.

Singh is a 1986 batch IPS officer of Bihar cadre and is currently posted as Special Director in the Intelligence Bureau.

According to an order issued by the Personnel Ministry, Singh has been appointed as the Director-General of CISF and will continue to hold the position till his retirement on August 31, 2023.
