Women protest outside UN headquarters, raised voices against the violation of rights of Afghan women.
Hundreds of women protested outside the United Nations headquarters in New York on Sunday (local time) against the Taliban’s violation of human rights and women’s rights in Afghanistan.
They said the UN needs to pay attention to the restrictions imposed on the Afghan people, and especially on women.
Fatima Rahmati, an Afghan woman living in the US who was involved in the protests, said, ‘Women make half the world. So, when you don’t let them work, the consequences are dire.’
Another Afghan woman living in Italy, Simona Lanzoni, said, ‘My message to all Afghan women is that we should never lose hope. We will fight and we will take our rights.
Another woman, Shakeela Mujadadi, said that the United Nations should pay attention to the sanctions that the Taliban have imposed on the people of Afghanistan, especially women, according to Tolo News.
Various activists and women’s rights defenders in Afghanistan reported that they were unable to continue their activities.
Roya Afghanyar, who has worked as a women’s rights activist in Afghanistan for the past 20 years, said that after the fall of the Ghani government, she was unable to continue her activities.
“Women are living in very bad conditions. They have lost the right to education and work. This government, which calls itself the government of Afghanistan, should be given our rights.

They also urged the international community to pay attention to the status and rights of those who are currently among the most vulnerable in Afghanistan.
