Allahabad High Court Sent Notice To Mukhtar Ansari
Allahabad High Court sent notice to Mukhtar Ansari, appeals against acquittal in three cases.
The Lucknow bench of the Allahabad High Court has approved the hearing of three separate appeals filed by the state government against the decisions of the MPML special court for acquitting Mafia Mukhtar Ansari in three cases in December 2020.
The court has issued a notice to Mukhtar Ansari for this. The High Court has also summoned cases related to the special court. The next hearing will be three weeks later.
The order was passed by a bench of Justice Ramesh Sinha and Justice Rajiv Singh during the video conferencing hearing.
While filing appeals on behalf of the state government.
It was said that a witness had given sufficient testimony against the mafia Mukhtar Ansari for conviction but the trial made a mistake by acquitting Mukhtar by not accepting the said testimony.
At the same time, in the case of Gangster Act, said that Mukhtar was acquitted due to lack of proper test of evidence available on lettering, after which the High Court issued notice to Mukhtar after the prima facie hearing.
In fact, the special court of MPMLA acquitted Mukhtar Ansari in December last year for lack of evidence in another case of threatening and abusing the jailer and abusing and killing the then Additional Inspector General of Prisons.
The special court had also ordered the acquittal of the accused Mukhtar in the absence of evidence even in a Gangster Act case related to the police station Hazratganj.
According to the prosecution, on April 28, 2003, Lucknow jailor SK Awasthi lodged an FIR against Mukhtar.
FIR was lodged at the police station Alambagh alleging that he was threatened with death when ordered to search the people who had come to meet Mukhtar Ansari in the jail.
At the same time, Mukhtar also pointed a pistol at him, while on March 1, 1999, the then Additional Inspector General of Prisons, SP Singh Pundir lodged the police station at Krishnanagar.
Apart from these two cases of Mukhtar Ansari in the special court, the trial of Gangster Act related to Hazratganj police station was also going on.
