In fact, the special court of MPMLA acquitted Mukhtar Ansari in December last year for lack of evidence in another case of threatening and abusing the jailer and abusing and killing the then Additional Inspector General of Prisons.

The special court had also ordered the acquittal of the accused Mukhtar in the absence of evidence even in a Gangster Act case related to the police station Hazratganj.

FIR was lodged at the police station Alambagh alleging that he was threatened with death when ordered to search the people who had come to meet Mukhtar Ansari in the jail.

At the same time, Mukhtar also pointed a pistol at him, while on March 1, 1999, the then Additional Inspector General of Prisons, SP Singh Pundir lodged the police station at Krishnanagar.
