Bhagyashree married Himalaya Dasani in January 1989. It was only after marriage that her first superhit film Maine Pyar Kiya was released and Bhagyashree’s luck shone. Salman Khan was in the lead role. About three months after the release of the film, she became the mother of a son, whose name is Abhimanyu.
The reporter had said something indecent at the time of delivery
Bhagyashree has narrated an incident during the birth of her son Abhimanyu which had hurt her. Bhagyashree said that just a day after the birth of her son, a reporter had come to meet her in the hospital, who had said something indecent to Himalaya about her and Salman’s affair. In a conversation with Siddharth Kannan, Bhagyashree said, “I had just given birth to Abhimanyu. My sister-in-law was outside my room and a press reporter came with a huge bouquet and said I want to meet Bhagyashree.”

Bhagyashree further said, “So they let him (the reporter) come in to congratulate her. So she came inside and she said to Himalaya (Bhagyashree’s husband), ‘How do you think, Bhagyashree had an affair with Salman ji and now this child has been born.’ No one has ever said such a thing in my life. Even when ‘Maine Pyar Kiya’ was being made, no one said such a thing.” Bhagyashree was stunned to hear this.

Regarding Salman Khan, Bhagyashree stated, “Salman is a real gentleman. We never had such a relationship. No one said anything like that and this happened the very next day of my delivery. So I realized how much people can hurt others. I felt very sad about that. After that, I stopped looking at film magazines. No magazine comes to the house. I completely separated myself from the film world.”
