Border Security Force jawans martyred in Terrorist Attack. Two Border Security Force (BSF) jawans were martyred when terrorists assaulted them close to the Pandach zone on the outskirts of Srinagar city.

A BSF representative said here that the soldiers of the 37th brigade were on road opening operation in the Pandach region of Gandberal when cruiser borne activists terminated at them unpredictably. He said that two BSF men Rana Mandol and Zai-ul Haque were fundamentally harmed and later capitulated to their wounds. He further said that activists grabbed rifles from both the BSF men.

The representative said that the territory has been cordoned off and looks are being directed against the terrorists responsible for the assault.

Sources said that 2-3 bike-borne terrorists assaulted the two BSF men who were buying a few things from a shop in the Pandach zone. They said that these men were on road opening operation at the 90-feet road however had left the duty and had gone to Old Soura road to buy a couple of things from a shop.

They said that the BSF men had disregarded the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) and went somewhere in the range of 500 meters from their duty area when they were targeted by terrorists. They said they were busy at the shop when terrorists assaulted them from behind.

They said one AK-47 rifle and one INSAS rifle were grabbed from them. They included that the men from the BSF would have been regular guests to the shop and terrorists would have been keeping watch on their development.

Sources said that an inquiry has been ordered against the Commanding Officer of the BSF for violation of the SOP by his troops.

Meanwhile, security forces today captured four Over Ground Workers (OGWs) of  Terrorist organization Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) from Budgam area and recuperated arms and ammo from them.

Police said that on valid info, Budgam police alongside 2RR of Armed force captured four OGWs of LeT recognized as Muzaffar Ahmad Dar, Mudasir Ahmad Solitary, Younis Waza, all inhabitants of Budran and Nazir Ahmad Sheik occupant of Pushkar Khag.

They said that implicating materials, arms, and ammo including one gun, grenade, and an immense reserve of ammo were recouped from their ownership.

According to the police records, they were involved in providing logistic support and shelter to the terrorists of LeT working in the region other than other unlawful activities.

A case (FIR No. 82/2020 under significant Areas of law) has been enrolled in Police headquarters Magam and further examination in the issue is in progress.
