David Hussey expects Kolkata to reach IPL 2020 playoff, says – we are in the tournament.

Despite suffering a defeat against Chennai Super Kings (CSK), Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) mentor David Hussey said he hoped the team would make it to the playoffs.

CSK defeated KKR by six wickets in the Indian Premier League 2020 (IPL 2020) here on Thursday. After the loss to Kolkata, Mumbai Indians (MI) became the first team to qualify for the playoffs this season. KKR is currently in fifth place with 12 points.

David Hussey said that we have reached this position after losing the match, but we are still in the tournament. The next match is against Rajasthan.

You never know that anything can happen. If the results go in our favor and we can reach the playoffs by shocking some teams.

Chennai won by six wickets chasing a target of 173 runs. Rituraj Gaikwad hit an innings of 72 runs, while in the end, Ravindra Jadeja played a quick inning of 31 runs off 11 balls to lead the team to victory.

Hussey admitted that CSK played well in the match and deserved the win. He said that every defeat is difficult. Full credit to Chennai, they are entitled to victory. I think he bowled well and fielding and then he chased the target well.

Nitish Rana (87) scored the most runs for Kolkata. Apart from this, Shubman Gill (26) and Dinesh Karthik scored an unbeaten 21 runs. Shane Watson (14) and Rituraj Gaikwad (72) formed a half-century partnership.

Rituraj was followed by Ambati Rayudu (38). But after this pair was out, Chennai’s innings faltered. Captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s poor form continued.

He could score just one run by playing four balls. Jadeja (31 not out) led the team to victory with Sam Curran (13 not out) in the final overs.

Chennai Super Kings won the consolation after defeating Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) by six wickets on the last ball in the Indian Premier League 2020 (IPL 2020) match.

Kolkata scored 172 runs for five wickets. In response, the Chennai team lost the target by losing four wickets. In the last over, Chennai had to score 10 runs to win.

Kolkata’s young Kamlesh Nagerkoti bowled in this over. Ravindra Jadeja won the team by hitting the last two balls for six.

After the match, Kolkata captain Eoin Morgan defended Nagerkoti, saying that he did not have many runs to save in the last over. He is still young and will learn from this and move forward
