Delhi Riots: Court Seeks Clarification From Police Officers
Delhi riots: Court seeks clarification from police officers on disobeying orders.
The Karkardooma Court on Thursday pulled up the police for defying orders in three cases of arson in Karawal Nagar, Khajuri Khas, and Bhajanpura areas in Delhi riots.
The court of Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Arun Kumar Garg said that despite being told several times, due to non-compliance of orders, the proceedings of the court are being obstructed.
From this prima facie it appears that the order of this Court is not being followed deliberately.
The court sought clarification from the DCP of North Eastern District, SHO Karawal Nagar, SHO Bhajanpura, SHO Khajuri Khas in these cases through JC of Eastern District within two days.
It has also been asked why proceedings should not be initiated against him for contempt of court.
While hearing the case of arson in Karawal Nagar, the court found that despite its clear instructions, the police have not provided a copy of the supplementary charge sheet to the accused Vinay.
Not only this but the report regarding sending the notice to the accused Saurabh Sharma has also not been submitted to the court.
To this, the court said that despite its repeated directions, the SHO Karawal Nagar as well as the DCP of North East district have failed to ensure that the relevant report is made available to the court a day before the hearing.
Saying this, the court has sought clarification from the investigating officer in addition to these two officers.
Along with this, the accused Vinay has been directed to provide a copy of the supplementary charge sheet by 5 pm on Friday.
Reprimanding the police for not providing the report of sending a notice to Shamsher, accused in the case of robbery and arson in Khajuri Khas area.
This court has sought an explanation from the investigating officer, SHO of Khajuri Khas police station, and DCP of North-Eastern district.
Apart from this, this court has sought clarification from the SHO of the Bhajanpura police station and DCP of the North-Eastern district.
The clarification was sought for not providing the copy of the charge sheet in time to the burning of the house in Bhajanpura and not following the order of November 17, 2021, in this regard.
After this order was passed, the court staff apprised the judge that he had received the report from the DCP office, which was sent to the court through WhatsApp.
On this, the court summoned the answer from its staff and said that they are trying to save the police.
