ED Interrogates Sanjay Pandey For 3 Hours

ED interrogates former Mumbai Police Commissioner Sanjay Pandey for 3 hours in an NSE co-location case.

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Monday questioned former Mumbai Police Commissioner Sanjay Pandey for three hours in connection with the National Stock Exchange (NSE) co-location case.

He has also been summoned by the ED on Tuesday (July 19) to its office for questioning.

He has been asked to appear before the Enforcement Directorate in Delhi for questioning in connection with the alleged illegal phone tapping of NSE personnel.

Earlier on July 15 also, the ED had summoned Pandey in the NSE-Co location case.

Earlier on Friday (July 8), following the orders of the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) registered a fresh case in the NSE co-location scam, which includes phone tapping of NSE employees.

The Central Investigation Agency also interrogated Sanjay Pandey on the same day.

The names of former NSE chief Chitra Ramakrishna, Ravi Narayan, and former Mumbai Police Commissioner Sanjay Pandey were mentioned in the FIR for allegedly tapping the phones of NSE officials and other irregularities.

A senior CBI official said that searches are going on across the country in this case. Sanjay Pandey is a 1986 batch Indian Police Service (IPS) officer. He retired on 30 June.

During the investigation, it has been found that Sanjay Pandey is closely associated with the working and activities of a company named ‘Isek Securities Pvt Ltd’.

ED interrogates former Mumbai Police Commissioner: Isek Securities Pvt Ltd had done the security audit of NSE.

Sanjay Pandey was incorporated in ISEC Securities Company in March 2001 and he stepped down as its director in May 2006. Later his son and mother took over the charge of the company.

It is alleged that illegal phone tapping of NSE employees was done between 2009-17, in which this company is allegedly involved.

Sanjay Pandey served as the Director General of Police of Maharashtra, before his 4-month stint as the Mumbai Police Commissioner.

Earlier on July 5, former Mumbai Police Commissioner Sanjay Pandey was questioned by the Enforcement Directorate in the money laundering case related to the NSE co-location scam.

He had appeared at the ED office in Delhi.
