Electricity strike in J&K: The government accepted the demands, after the assurance, the electricity workers returned to work.
Let us inform that about 21 thousand employees of the electricity department were on indefinite strike for three days.
Due to this, the power supply came to a standstill in the entire state, especially in the Jammu division.
The administration had started the process of restoring the power supply with the help of army and power grid engineers to take over the front.
But despite this, the darkness remained in most areas, especially in the Jammu division.
Earlier on Monday, taking a step further, the administration wrote a letter to all the ITI colleges and superintendents of the state to take necessary services of the final year students of electrical engineering so that they can be deployed at power stations.
Meanwhile, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha has bluntly said that Jammu and Kashmir will run with the will of 1.25 crore people and not with the will of a few people.
On Monday evening, there were four rounds of talks between the striking employees and the administration.
Committee General Secretary Sachin Tikku said that we will not allow the privatization of J&K Power Transmission Corporation.
At the same time, Divisional Commissioner Raghav Langar made it clear that the Lieutenant Governor’s administration wants reforms in the power sector, arbitrariness will not work in this.
However, late-night both the parties agreed.
Electricity strike in J&K: Agreement on the following points.
1. It has been decided that the proposed tie-up between Jammu Kashmir Power Transmission Corporation Limited (JKPTCL) and PGCIL has been postponed for the time being.
For this, a committee of all the stakeholders will be constituted, which will look into the matter.
2. All possible steps will be taken to pay salaries to the employees on time. For this, Chief Account Officers will be appointed in all the districts.
3. The problems being faced by the employees of the Electricity Department in getting their salary through Grant-in-Aid will also be removed.
4. A committee will be formed to fix the problems of the employees working in Chenab Valley from ensuring the engineers.
5. A committee will be constituted to ensure that the interests of JKPDD employees working on deputation are not harmed.
