FDI breaks all records, FDI reaches an all-time high of $ 83.57 billion in 2021-22: FDI in India.
Foreign direct investment has broken all records in the financial year 2021-22. The Ministry of Commerce and Industry gave this information on Friday.
The Ministry of Commerce and Industry said that India has recorded the ‘highest’ annual FDI (FDI, Foreign Direct Investment) i.e. foreign direct investment of US $ 83.57 billion in 2021-22.
It is to be known that in the year 2020-21, this inflow was the US $ 81.97 billion.
The Ministry of Commerce and Industry said in its official statement on Friday that India has achieved foreign direct investment (FDI) of US $ 83.57 billion in the financial year 2021-22, which is the highest in any financial year so far.

According to the report of a leading news agency, India has recorded the highest ever annual FDI inflow of US $ 83.57 billion in the financial year 2021-22.
The Ministry of Commerce and Industry further said that India is fast emerging as a preferred country for foreign investment in the manufacturing sector.
FDI equity inflows in the manufacturing sector have registered a huge growth of 76 percent as compared to the previous financial year 2020-21.
FDI equity inflows have been US$ 21.34 billion in 2021-22 as against US$ 12.09 billion in 2020-21.
In terms of major investor countries, Singapore is at the top with 27 percent. After this comes the number of America and Mauritius.
The US is second with 18 percent, while Mauritius is third with 16 percent.
The Ministry of Commerce and Industry said that FDI (Foreign Direct Investment) was the highest in the computer software and hardware sector.
This is followed by FDI in the service sector and the automobile industry.
