Fifty Foreign Terrorists Are Active In North Kashmir
Fifty foreign terrorists are active in North Kashmir. 50 foreign terrorists who took terror training in Afghanistan active in North Kashmir, have also faced US Army.
After breaking the back of the terrorists in South Kashmir, the security agencies have now focused their attention on the foreign terrorists operating in North Kashmir.
The number of foreign terrorists in North Kashmir is more than the local terrorists and most of them are as compared to South Kashmir.
They have returned from training camps of Lashkar, Jaish, and al-Badr in Afghanistan or have fought against US forces.
According to police sources, the presence of about 50 foreign terrorists in North Kashmir has been confirmed and all of them are listed.
However, local sources put the number of foreign terrorists operating in Baramulla, Kupwara, and Bandipore at twice the number of police figures.
Fifty foreign terrorists are active: Terrorist activities have decreased continuously in North Kashmir since 2015.
A senior officer of the Jammu and Kashmir Police said that since the year 2015, terrorist activities in North Kashmir have decreased continuously.
There has also been a decrease in the recruitment of local terrorists as compared to South Kashmir.
This was mainly because Lashkar, Jaish, Hizbul Mujahideen, and al-Badar focused their attention entirely on their network in South Kashmir.
The network of Pakistani commanders such as Abu Qasim, Abu Dujana, and Abu Ismail was stronger in the south and in north Kashmir they used to go only to pick up new terrorists coming from POK.
Jaish-e-Mohammed also took advantage of their old overground networks like Noora Trali and the like in South Kashmir itself.
Moreover, given the spurt in the recruitment of local boys with Burhan Wani as the poster boy, terrorist organizations had restricted their activities in South Kashmir by reducing the number of their foreign cadre.
Foreign terrorists were only given the responsibility of planning and carrying out suicide attacks or brainwashing and training local boys.
He told that after the killing of terrorist Burhan in 2016, taking lessons from the period of violent demonstrations in the valley, the security forces started Operation Allout to eliminate the terrorists.
Although this operation went on in the entire valley, more attention was given to South Kashmir.
As the four districts of South Kashmir including Anantnag, Kulgam, Shopian, and Pulwama were becoming a strong stronghold of terrorists.
Many terrorists were also killed in Baramulla, Kupwara, and Bandipora in North Kashmir during this period.
But the remaining terrorists almost stopped coming out of their bases, limiting their activities completely.
During this, the same foreign terrorist went to South Kashmir, whom his masters sitting across had entrusted the responsibility of a particular incident.
Another officer of the Jammu and Kashmir Police said that foreign terrorists are now active again in North Kashmir.
One reason for this is the increasing pressure of security forces on terrorists in South Kashmir.
The second reason, with the increasing influx of foreign terrorists in North Kashmir, is the recruitment of the local cadre.
He said that this year’s attack on the members of the Municipal Committee in Sopore and subsequent terrorist attacks on the police team involved foreign terrorists along with local terrorists.
He said that about nine foreign terrorists have been killed in the valley this year.
They had entered Kashmir about three years ago. Last year, 32 foreign terrorists were killed in the Valley.
This year the first foreign terrorist Abu Hamas alias Saria Bhai was killed in Sapore, North Kashmir.
The names of Pakistani terrorists Ali Bhai and Usman have also come to the fore in the grenade attack on the house of a woman sarpanch Narendra Kaur in Sharakwara, Baramulla last month.
Foreign terrorists operating in Kashmir have kept themselves completely low-profile during the last few years.
Kashmir affairs expert Asif Qureshi said that foreign terrorists operating in North Kashmir have kept themselves completely low-profile during the last few years.
He has taken full advantage of the situation in South Kashmir. The three districts of North Kashmir are adjacent to the LoC.
Apart from this, the Baramulla district of North Kashmir is also adjacent to Poonch in Jammu province.
If the terrorists who are successful in infiltrating Rajouri-Poonch reach the Mughal road, then they can easily go through the forests of Budgam, Gulmarg in North Kashmir to their hideouts in North Kashmir.
Fifty foreign terrorists are active: Forests, mountains, and streams are also very much in North Kashmir.
Not only this, organizations like TRF and PAFF, which we call the hit squads of Lashkar and Jaish, have also strengthened the network of foreign terrorists in North Kashmir.
An IG rank officer in Jammu and Kashmir Police said that you cannot link the presence of foreign terrorists in North Kashmir with the situation in Afghanistan during the last two months.
Infiltration efforts have increased along the LoC since July, but no traces of any Taliban or any new terrorist have been found in North Kashmir.
The terrorists who are in North Kashmir were already present here.
He said that the army and other security agencies are continuously reviewing the situation. The anti-infiltration mechanism has been strengthened.
The possibility of an increase in infiltration attempts from across the border along the LoC in the coming days cannot be ruled out.
