Emergency Mock Landing: Indian Air Force aircraft to land on the National Highway of Barmer, Gadkari, and Rajnath will stay with IAF.

An Indian Air Force (IAF) aircraft will make an emergency mock landing on a national highway in Rajasthan’s Barmer this week.

Defense Minister Rajnath Singh and Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari will be present in the IAF aircraft.

Will inaugurate 3.5 km long strip.

According to media reports, both the ministers will inaugurate a 3.5 km long strip on the national highway in Barmer this week.

Because it is ready to handle the emergency landing of fighter planes and other aircraft of the Air Force.

It is believed that this is India’s first national highway that will be used for the emergency landing of Indian Air Force aircraft.

Earlier in 2017 mock landing was done on Lucknow-Agra Expressway.

Earlier in October 2017, IAF fighter jets and transport aircraft had made a mock landing on the Lucknow-Agra Expressway.

To show that such highways can be used by IAF aircraft for emergency landings.

Work towards developing an airstrip on the national highway.

The Lucknow-Agra Expressway comes under the Government of Uttar Pradesh.

According to sources, the officials of the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) worked in coordination with the IAF officials to develop an airstrip on the national highway in Barmer.

12 National Highways are being prepared.

Let us inform you that apart from Barmer, at least 12 national highways are being prepared across the country so that they can be used as airstrips by Air Force aircraft in case of emergency.

It has been informed that the stretches of 12 National Highways which will be used as airstrips are being identified and prepared.
