Former DGP Revealed- 70 Terrorists Released In 1989
Former DGP revealed- 70 terrorists released in 1989 wreaked havoc in Kashmir.
After the debate that started regarding the film The Kashmir Files, now many disgusting truths of terrorist violence and separatist activities in Jammu and Kashmir have started coming to the fore.
Now the former Director-General of Police of Jammu and Kashmir, Dr. Sheshpal Vaid, revealed the new revelation.
He said that in the year 1989, 70 terrorists were released due to wrong and immature decisions of the then government and officials.
Later this terrorist became the commander in chief of various organizations and the story after that is known to all.
Dr. Shesh Pal Vaid, who was the Chief of Police from 31 December 2016 to 6 September 2018, retired on 30 October 2019.
Referring to the debate that started on The Kashmir Files movie, he said that for terrorist violence, there are many reasons responsible for the displacement of Kashmiri Pandits.
He said that at the time when terrorism was raising its head, at that time many wrong and immature decisions were taken, whose brunt is being paid till today.
He said that I still remember very well that in 1989, 70 terrorists were caught by the police keeping their lives on their palms in different operations in Kashmir.
All these terrorists had returned from Pakistan at that time with training in subversive activities.
He said that I still remember the names of many of the terrorists. These included Mohammad Afzal Sheikh of Trehgam Kupwara in North Kashmir.
The names of Rafiq Ahmed Ahangar, Mohammad Ayub Najar, Farooq Ahmed Ganai, Ghulam Mohammad Gojri, Farooq Ahmed Malik, Nazir Ahmed Sheikh, Ghulam Mohiuddin Teli are notable among other terrorists.
Former DGP revealed: I still do not understand what was the reason why they were released.
After their release, many of them formed new terrorist organizations and many of them went to their respective areas and started massacres in the valley, preparing an army of new terrorists.
At that time I was ASP, could not question it: According to Dr. Vaid, I was ASP at that time, so no one could question my seniors, then ruling class.
This step must have been taken only with the consent of the then state government and the then central government.
This decision will send a message to the terrorists and their masters about the weakness of the then political leadership of Jammu and Kashmir and India.
Who took this decision, what would they have thought, I am not able to say anything on that right now. Only those people are able to answer this, who were the policymakers at that time.
