India and France have taken steps together to cooperate with each other in the field of defense. France has made a big offer to India on Rafale Jet and Panther Helicopter.

Now the Panther medium utility helicopters of France will be assembled 100 percent in India. Apart from this, the assembly line of the Rafale fighter jet can be shifted up to 70 percent in India only.

This will help in furthering India’s ‘Make in India’ campaign. According to media reports, there have been talks on transferring technology in both countries.

Let us tell you that last week, Emmanuel Bonn, the diplomatic affairs advisor of French President Emmanuel Macron, was in Delhi for the annual strategic dialogue between India and France.

During this time there was a discussion on defense cooperation between the two countries.

According to the leading English newspaper, India can buy more Rafale jets from France. Actually, by assembling it in India, its price will be reduced considerably.

Navy needs

Let us know that India is looking to buy medium-range helicopters for the Navy. Airbus AS565 MBe can be used in any season.

It is a multi-role medium helicopter, designed for operation from the ship’s deck, offshore location, and land-based sites.

Discussion on nuclear power plant

According to sources in the South Block, the 9,900 MW Jaitapur nuclear power plant of the Nuclear Power Corporation of India was also discussed in the Indo-French strategic talks this week.

According to sources, India is in talks to lease six Airbus 330 multi-role transport tankers from France.

Many other issues were discussed

National Security Advisor Ajit Doval was present during the conversation. The Foreign Ministry said in a statement that the two sides held talks on various matters including counter-terrorism.

Cybersecurity, defense cooperation, maritime security, regional and global affairs, and cooperation in the Indo-Pacific region.

The ministry said that the two sides reiterated the high priority given to the strategic partnership between India and France and underlined the convergence of views between the two countries.
