Gujjar Reservation Movement: Gujjars continue to occupy railway track, talks with the government today.
In Rajasthan, the people of the Gurjar community took over the railway track with other demands including recruitment of backlog in the Backward Class (MBC) and inclusion of reservation in the 9th Schedule of the Constitution.
Gurjars are seated on the railway track at Bayana near Bharatpur. Furious youths took out fish plates of tracks. Due to this, the Delhi-Mumbai rail route is blocked.
Roadways buses are closed in Karauli, Bharatpur, Sawaimadhopur districts due to the fierce agitation of Gurjars. People are facing a lot of trouble due to the capture of Gurjars on the Bharatpur-Bayana highway.
Negotiations between Singh Baisla and state government minister Ashok Chandna are expected later Monday afternoon. The solution of Gujjars can be ended by finding a solution in the negotiations.
The Internet has been closed for the last three days in four districts. Chandna was going for talks with Bainsla on Sunday night too, but due to the occupation and jam of Gurjars on the highway, they had to stay in between.
The Gujjars had also refused talks on the night, so talks are expected later Monday afternoon. One and a half dozen trains plying between Delhi and Mumbai have been affected by this movement.
Most of the trains are being diverted.
Train number 02059 Kota Nizamuddin canceled today, train number 02402 Dehradun Kota and train number 02401 Kota Dehradun Nanda Devi Express has been canceled today.
Around 60 trains, including 40 freight trains, were affected due to Gurjars being derailed. Routes of several trains were diverted while two had to be postponed.
It is noteworthy that a section of Gujjar society is agitating about the pending demands related to reservation. While the other faction seems satisfied after the talks with the government.
Colonel Kirori Singh Bainsla faction convenor of Gurjar Reservation Sangharsh Samiti has started the movement.
Sports Minister Ashok Chandna went there on Sunday to talk to this faction, but the talks could not be held. Here, the Gurjar Samaj movement is being led by Bainsla’s son Vijay Singh Bainsla.
Gujjars have these demands
The backlog recruitments should be removed as promised in the agreement and manifesto. Complete a 5 percent reservation in process recruitments.
The family members of the remaining three people who were killed in the reservation got government jobs and compensation. The Reservation Bill should be inserted in the Ninth Schedule.
1252 employees recruited from the MBC quota received regular pay scales after completing two years of probation. The budget should be given for development plans in Devanarayana Yojana.
