How to make Aaloo-Pyaaz Kachori?
Ingredients:
For the dough:
1. 2 cups wheat flour
2. 1/2 tsp salt
3. 2 tbsp oil
4. Water (as required)
For the stuffing: How to Make Crispy & Delicious Aaloo-Pyaaz Kachori
1. 2 large potatoes (boiled and mashed)
2. 1 large onion (finely chopped)
3. 1/2 tsp asafoetida
4. 1/2 tsp cumin seeds
5. 1/2 tsp coriander powder
6. 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
7. 1/4 tsp red chilli powder
8. 1/4 tsp garam masala
9. Salt to taste
10. Oil for frying
How to Make Crispy & Delicious Aaloo-Pyaaz Kachori: Method
Preparing the dough:
- Put the flour, oil, and salt in a big bowl.
- Knead to make a soft dough by adding water gradually.
- The dough should be covered and left for 15 to 20 minutes.
- Preparing the stuffing:
- Heat oil in a pan.
- Add asafoetida, cumin seeds, coriander powder, turmeric powder, red chili powder, and garam masala and fry.
- Add the onion and cook until golden.
- Add mashed potatoes and mix well.
- Add salt to taste.
How to make Kachori?
- Make small balls of dough.
- Using a rolling pin, roll each ball into a thin Puri.
- Put the stuffing in the middle of the Puri and fold the edges to give it a round shape.
- Heat oil in a pan and fry the Kachori on medium flame till it turns golden.
- Serve hot Kachori with potato curry or chutney.
Special Tips:
- Do not knead the dough too much, otherwise the Kachori will become hard.
- Let the potato mixture become a little wet.
- Fry the Kachori on low flame only, otherwise, it will burn from the outside and remain raw from the inside.
- To make the Kachori more delicious, add a little garam masala to it.
- If you like spicy food, you can increase the red chili powder.
- You can use different types of spices to fill the Kachori.
