But the people who came to create a ruckus were not satisfied with this and around midnight they pelted stones at the police station in large numbers and also broke many vehicles.

According to the police commissioner, the mob then pelted stones at the local hospital and Hanuman temple as well. After which the police had to lathi-charge on seeing the crowd suddenly turned violent.

After the attack, Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai told the media that the attack was well-planned.

He had said that the organizations that carried out the attack should not forget that strict action would be taken against such incidents.
