India is close to becoming a superpower in the field of vaccines, 96 percent of the population has taken one dose.
India is close to becoming the world’s superpower in the field of developing and producing corona vaccines.
Dr. Balram Bhargava, Director General, Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) has said this.
He said that so far 96 percent of the immunized population of the country have been given the first dose of the vaccine, while more than 75 percent of people have been given two doses.
Dr. Bhargava said that three phases of clinical trials of the messenger RNA (mRNA) vaccine have been completed.
Apart from preventing corona infection, this vaccine can also be used for the treatment of other diseases in the future.
If we see the work of our institutions, then we have no doubt in saying that we will soon be the superpower of vaccines. Through vaccines, we will be able to prevent other diseases.
The head of ICMR said, a large number of people showed enthusiasm to participate in the vaccination campaign, as a result of which we were able to stop the third wave of the Covid epidemic.
Very few people needed hospitalization in the third wave. Most of the people got cured by staying at home with normal medicines.
The strength of our country is to connect 96 percent of the population with the vaccination campaign.
Explaining the importance of the mRNA vaccine, Dr. VK Paul, Member (Health), NITI Aayog said, “We need such a vaccine. This is a new platform for vaccines.
We have seen vaccines being developed on this platform. This type of vaccine has been made to prevent coronavirus. This experiment has been successful in the world.
This vaccine has been effective. This vaccine is a gift to humanity. This has helped in preventing Covid of each variant. In this way, a way has been found to prevent future diseases.
In India, Pune-based company Genova BioPharmaceuticals has done remarkable work in this direction.
