New Chief Justice appointed for three states including Madras High Court.

Justice Munishwar Nath Bhandari was on Thursday appointed as the new Chief Justice of Madras High Court. Justice Bhandari was till now the acting Chief Justice of this High Court.

He took over as the acting Chief Justice after Justice Sanjib Banerjee was transferred to the Meghalaya High Court in November last year.

The Law Ministry has also issued notification for the appointment of 13 lawyers and three judicial officers as judges in the High Courts of Andhra Pradesh, Odisha, and Madhya Pradesh.

Appointed seven lawyers as judges in the Andhra Pradesh High Court. At the same time, three lawyers have been made judges in Odisha and Madhya Pradesh High Courts.

All three judicial officers have been appointed as judges in the Madhya Pradesh High Court. It is known that for the first time in the new year, judges have been appointed in the High Courts.

Last year, a total of 120 judges were appointed in various high courts.

Kiren Rijiju told the Rajya Sabha in a written reply on Thursday that as of February 4, against the sanctioned 1,098 posts of judges in high courts, 687 posts were filled and 411 posts were vacant.

Kalanidhi Maran to consider SpiceJet’s conciliation offer: Supreme Court.

The Supreme Court has asked former promoter of private airline SpiceJet Kalanithi Maran to consider its conciliation offer to settle a dispute over share transfer with the company.

After the hearing, the company said it has offered to pay Rs 600 crore in cash for final settlement on all matters including the transfer of shares with former promoter Kalanidhi Maran and his KAL Airways.

The company said that it was ordered to pay Rs 578 crore under the dispute settlement decision on this matter. Out of this, the company has paid Rs 308 crore.

Apart from this, he has deposited Rs 270 crore as a bank guarantee. The company said that SpiceJet is ready to pay an additional Rs 22 crore, which will take the entire amount to Rs 600 crore.
