Gurugram Building Collapse: Chintels Paradiso Society evacuated, central government officials also trapped; wife’s death.
The ceiling of the 6th-floor drawing room of the 18-story D Tower of Chintels Paradiso Society in Gurugram’s Sector 109 on the side of the Dwarka Expressway collapsed on Thursday.
When the debris of the roof fell on the fifth floor, part of the drawing-room up to the ground floor collapsed.
After the accident that took place at around 6.45 pm on Thursday evening, there was a scream on the society premises.
Central Warehousing Corporation’s managing director K AK Srivastava and his wife Sunita Srivastava, who lived in the same tower, were buried under the debris.
Gulshan Kalra, Deputy Director of Fire Department, Gurugram said that Sunita has died, but AK Srivastava is still trapped.
At the same time, in view of the situation, the administration has completely evacuated the 18-story tower from the people.
Apart from this, on the instructions of the district administration, a case has been registered against the builder Ashok Solomon in the police station Bajgheda under various sections in the accident.
After this, the police have also started a thorough investigation of the matter.
AK Srivastava was living with his wife, their children live abroad. Ekta, who lived on the first floor, died. Many people are injured in the accident.
The work of evacuating the people trapped in the debris is going on till late at night.
Teams of the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and fire brigade and other agencies are engaged in clearing the debris.
The society has some 18 towers. People live in people in all the towers. People living here have raised questions about the quality of the towers in the past as well.
It is said that six workers were engaged in installing the ceiling in the drawing-room part of the flat located on the sixth floor of D Tower.

Everyone is in shock. All the people living in D Tower have been brought to a safe place.
People were saying that the accident happened due to the builder’s arbitrariness and negligence and the apathy of the concerned officials.
