India’s push for UNSC reform: Jaishankar raises the issue at the United Nations.

India intensified its efforts to reform the United Nations Security Council (UNSC), with Foreign Minister Jaishankar discussing the G-20 Presidency, global challenges, and more with top UN leaders.

In this series, External Affairs Minister Dr. S Jaishankar (EAM S Jaishankar) met the top leadership of the United Nations today.

Many issues including India’s G-20 Presidency were discussed.

India’s G-20 presidency, regional issues and global challenges, Sustainable Development Goals, and Security Council reforms were discussed during External Affairs Minister Jaishankar’s meeting with the top UN leadership.

This meeting has taken place at a time when Jaishankar is going to address the United Nations General Assembly Session.

External Affairs Minister Jaishankar today met UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, President of the 78th session of the General Assembly Dennis Francis, and Administrator of the United Nations Development Program Achim Steiner.

Jaishankar expressed happiness on meeting Antonio Guterres.

The Foreign Minister expressed happiness on meeting UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres.

There was a discussion between the two on ‘how India’s G-20 presidency has contributed to strengthening the sustainable development agenda of the United Nations’.

Guterres praised India.

Antonio Guterres praised India for its cooperation with the United Nations and leadership of the G20.

He also discussed the situations in Afghanistan and Myanmar and other global challenges with Jaishankar.

Guterres attended the G-20 summit at the Bharat Mandapam in Delhi’s Pragati Maidan on September 9 and 10.

External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar met Francis, the President of this session of the General Assembly, before Guterres.

During this, he said that we agreed on the importance of improving multilateralism and giving the Global South its due on important issues.

Jaishankar met the UAE Foreign Minister.

In his meeting with Achim Steiner, Administrator of the United Nations Development Programme, Jaishankar praised UNDP’s involvement with India’s G-20 Presidency initiative.

He also met UAE Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
