Aishwarya Pratap Singh won the bronze medal, Chinese shooter broke the world record.

Indian shooter Ashwari Pratap Singh Tomar won the bronze medal in the final of the men’s 10-meter air rifle individual event at the Asian Games in Hangzhou on Monday.

Tomar stood third with 228.8 marks.

China’s Lihao Sheng won the gold medal with 253.3 points and broke the world record. Hajun Park of South Korea won the silver medal with 251.3 points.

It is noteworthy that Eshwari won the bronze medal by defeating compatriot Rudranksh Patil in the shoot-off.

Rudranksh finished fourth in the final of the 10m air rifle individual event with 208.7 points. India won its fourth medal in shooting in the Asian Games 2023.

Earlier, Indian team trio Divyansh Pawar, Rudranksh Patil, and Ashwari Tomar won the gold medal in the men’s 10-meter air rifle team shooting event.

All three scored a total of 1893.7 points and broke China’s world record. China had set a world record of 1893.3 points in the Baku Championships in August 2023. India broke it on Monday.

South Korea received a score of 1890.1, winning the silver medal. China stood third with 1888.2 points and won the bronze medal. India won its first gold medal in shooting at the Asian Games 2023.
