The IPO of Paras Defense became fully subscribed within minutes of its opening on Tuesday. This IPO will be open till 23 September.

The defense company plans to raise Rs 171 crore through a public issue. In this, Rs 140 crore will come from fresh issue. While there is a plan to bring Rs 30 crore from OFS.

IPO got a 2.2x subscription.

According to the BSE data, the issue has got around 2.2 times subscription till 10.30 am. In this, the retail category has booked 4.39 times.

What is the price band?

The company has kept a price band of Rs 165 to 175 for the IPO. Its price in Gray Market is Rs 210 premium. Investors can bid for 85 shares at once i.e. one lot is of so many shares.

Rs 30,000 crore IPO in the pipeline.

Markets regulator SEBI chairman Ajay Tyagi had recently said that unicorn companies have raised Rs 15,000 crore through initial share issue (IPO) in the last 18 months and an IPO of Rs 30,000 crore is in the pipeline.

Speaking at an event, Tyagi said that the growing number of unicorns in the startup ecosystem is a testimony to the advent of new-age technology companies in our economy.

These companies often follow a different business model that focuses more on rapid growth rather than immediate profit.

Raised Rs 15,000 crore.

During the last 18 months, these companies have raised around Rs 15,000 crore through IPO.

The same information given to SEBI shows that more IPOs of these companies worth Rs 30 thousand crores are in the pipeline. Recently, there has been a boom in raising capital through IPOs.

During the financial year 2020-21, Rs 46,000 crore was raised through IPO. This figure is more than double the Rs 21,000 crore raised through IPO in the previous financial year.
