IS terrorist module operating in India exposed, agencies got success after a year-long operation.

After the Uttar Pradesh ATS uncovered the terrorist module of Al Qaeda and arrested the terrorists associated with it.

Now the security agencies have busted the terrorist module linked to the Islamic State (IS).

A total of 10 terrorists have been arrested in raids conducted at 21 places in Jammu and Kashmir, Karnataka, and Kerala in the last month.

Security agencies are also interrogating several suspects. According to security agencies, information about IS modules operating in India was received about a year ago.

A senior official associated with the security agency said that these terrorists were posting a large number of IS propaganda material on an Instagram channel by the name of ‘Chronicle Foundation’.

This channel had 5,000 active members all over the world. When security agencies started investigating their members operating under pseudonyms.

Their locations were found in Mangaluru and Bangalore in Karnataka as well as Srinagar and Bandipora in Jammu and Kashmir.

NIA investigated.

Gradually these terrorists were identified and in March this year, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) registered a case and started action.

The investigation also revealed that many of these terrorists were preparing to go to IS-occupied Syria, Iraq, and Afghanistan and some even tried to go to Afghanistan via Iran in April 2019.

Terrorists were preparing to attack.

According to sources, these terrorists were engaged in preparing the infrastructure of IS terrorists in Kashmir and carrying out attacks.

They were also giving money to those who helped terrorists in Kashmir. The digital device recovered from the arrested terrorist Dr. Rahis had detailed information about the technology of making IEDs.

These terrorists were planning to create communal tension in the country and attack media organizations by killing Hinduist leaders.

Terrorists used to take out online magazines under the pseudonym.

Another IS module leader Jufri Jauhar Damoodi and his aide Amin Zuhaib were arrested from Bhatkal in Karnataka on Friday.

Jufri used to bring out an online magazine called ‘Voice of Hind’ since April last year, which was filled with the material to incite Indian youth along with IS propaganda.

Such was the identity of Jufri.

To avoid being noticed by agencies, Jufri changed his name to Abu Hajar al-Badri and identified himself as based in Afghanistan.

But after investigation, the agencies got information about his being active in India itself.

Jufri’s real identity was revealed on the basis of the arrest and interrogation of Qasim Khurasani alias Umar Nisar, who was arrested on July 11.

Jufri’s younger brother Adnan Hassan Damudi was arrested by the NIA in 2017 in an ISIS-related case.

Also got help from foreign agencies.

According to sources, help was also taken from foreign agencies to identify and arrest the members of this module.

Apart from this, the NIA, intelligence agencies, and local police worked in coordination and every little information was exchanged and analyzed in real-time.

NIA said that in the last one month, a total of 21 places were raided in Anantnag, Srinagar, Bandipora, Baramulla, Mangaluru, Bengaluru, and Bhatkal to nab IS terrorists.
