Lt Governor Manoj Sinha said that Jammu and Kashmir is not just a piece of land, it is our consciousness, our way of life.
He said that I assure that the Kashmiri displaced will return to their homes soon. The birds that have flown from their nests will come back.
He was releasing the book ‘Jammu and Kashmir:
The Wounded Paradise’ by renowned Kashmiri writer Jawahar Lal Kaul at a function organized by Indira Gandhi National Center for Arts (IGNCA) in New Delhi on Wednesday.
Lt Governor Manoj Sinha said that Jammu and Kashmir is indeed a paradise on earth, but it has been deprived of development and prosperity for decades.
Now we are once again on the way to bring it back to its lost glory.
It is not just a piece of land but it is an integral part of our consciousness, way of life, and our existence which beliefs in the universality of individual beings.
He said that for the first time in the history of Jammu and Kashmir, people are benefiting from the development agenda of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Continuous efforts are being made by the government for the socio-economic development of the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
The revolution of change is visible in all sectors including health, education, industry, food promotion, tourism, energy.
Many new progressive laws are being implemented for industries and farmers.
Referring to the author’s reference to a long industrial development in Jammu and Kashmir in his book, the Lieutenant Governor said that this phase is over now.
Jammu and Kashmir are now completely open for industries. The new industrial development scheme has been implemented under the able leadership and direction of the Prime Minister and the Home Minister.
Influenced by this, during the last two months, prominent industrialists of the country have made proposals for investment of 25 thousand crore rupees.
We are sure that by March next year this figure will reach 50 thousand crores. This will create employment opportunities for about 10 lakh youth.
Referring to the conspiracies by the neighboring country to mislead the local youth, he said that we are determined to thwart the plans of the enemy by engaging our youth in constructive and nation-building activities.
Reiterating his commitment to this cause, he said that the author has expressed hope in his book that we will be free from displacement, return to our homes, birds will come to their nests.
