This was stated by Major General Ajay Chandpuria, GOC of Army’s Dagger Division in a conversation with reporters in Baramulla on Saturday.

The Dagger Division is responsible for the security of the Line of Control (LoC) in Gulmarg, Uri, and its adjoining areas.

Major General Ajay Chandpuria said that during the last few months, the Army has foiled several infiltration and arms smuggling attempts in North Kashmir.

These include state-of-the-art night vision devices, communication equipment, machine guns, and assault rifles.

Therefore, the possibility of having some such weapons with the terrorists operating in Kashmir cannot be denied.

Major General Chandpuria said that despite the resumption of a ceasefire along the LoC, terrorists with the help of the Pakistan Army have attempted to infiltrate several times, but each time it was foiled.

He said that when the Taliban occupied Afghanistan last year, American soldiers had left there about six lakh small state-of-the-art weapons and state-of-the-art binoculars capable of seeing clearly in the dark of night, which we call night vision devices.

This item is in the possession of the Taliban. Some such weapons have also been found from the terrorists killed on the LoC.

Apart from this, the cache of weapons that were smuggled from POK and sent to Kashmir also had American weapons.
