Uproar over hijab in Karnataka, the case against 15 girl students, 58 suspended, minister blames communal forces.

The controversy surrounding the hijab in Karnataka does not seem to end.

In many parts of the state, some Muslim girl students are not ready to obey the interim order of the Karnataka High Court and are reaching school and college wearing hijab.

A case was registered against 15 girl students and 58 were suspended from the college for going on a hijab and protesting outside the college on Saturday.

The High Court has banned the wearing of clothes with religious symbols in schools and colleges till the final verdict.

Extended Section-144.

In view of the tension, the Dakshina Kannada district administration has extended Section 144 till February 26 within 200 meters of the school and college.

Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai has said that outsiders are behind this entire controversy. He also said that the issue would be resolved soon.

The case against 15 girl students.

According to the information, on the complaint of the Principal of Impress Girl Inter College in Tumakuru, police have registered a case against 15 girl students.

There is an allegation against them of protesting outside the college premises, while Section 144 was in force there.

At the same time,Vijay, the principal of Junior College in the Medicare district, has lodged a complaint with the police against a person threatening to kill him.

The principal said that he did not allow the girl students to enter the college wearing hijab, after which they were threatened.

58 girl students suspended.

At the same time, 58 girl students wearing hijab reached a government intermediate college in Shiralakoppa in Shivamogga district on Saturday.

When the college administration stopped her citing the interim order of the High Court, she started protesting against the college administration.

After much persuasion, she did not agree, then the college administration suspended her.

Girls are adamant about wearing hijab in class.

In Harihar of Davangere district also some girl students reached SJVP college wearing hijab, who were not allowed to enter the college.

The girls were asked to take off the hijab, but they did not agree to it. Vijay Paramedical College closed indefinitely due to the hijab controversy in the Belagavi district.

Tension has built up in many districts including Bellary.

In districts like Bellary, Koppal, Ramnagar, etc. Muslim girls are reaching school-college wearing hijab in violation of the interim order of the state government and the High Court.

However, no one is allowed to enter the college wearing a hijab.
