Kerala Court Sentenced A Madrasa Teacher For Sexual Assault

Kerala court sentenced a madrasa teacher for sexual assault. Madrasa’s teacher sexually assaulted a minor boy by taking him hostage and sentenced him to 20 years.

A speedy court in Kerala on Thursday sentenced a madrasa teacher to a total of 67 years of imprisonment, holding him guilty of taking a minor boy hostage and sexually abusing him.

The victim was a student of a madrasa. However, the convict will have to spend only 20 years in jail as the sentences will run concurrently.

Special Judge Satish Kumar V ordered life imprisonment for a teacher who sexually assaulted his student in an educational institution.

The sentence was ordered under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses (POCSO) Act, and a minor in a position of trust or authority.

He was convicted of sexual assault and sentenced to 20 years in prison for each offense.

The court also sentenced the teacher guilty of illegal confinement under the Indian Penal Code and under the Juvenile Justice Act to different terms.

Along with this, a fine of Rs 65,000 was also imposed on him.

Special Public Prosecutor A. According to Sindhu, the matter came to the fore in January 2020, when an 11-year-old boy narrated his ordeal to his friends about sexual abuse by his 50-year-old madrasa teacher.

The former Congress president will visit his constituency Wayanad on Friday, a week after the office of Rahul Gandhi was vandalized by activists of the Students’ Federation of India (SFI).

Sources said on Thursday that during his three-day visit, Gandhi will attend various programs in his constituency.

This will include the inauguration of a farmer bank building at Mananthavady and the UDF Bahujan Sangamam/Samagam at Sultan Bathery.

Gandhi will arrive at the Kannur International Airport on Friday morning and will be received by Congress leaders led by Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) chief K Sudhakaran.

Rahul Gandhi will return to Delhi from Kozhikode on Sunday. The protest march in Kalpetta, alleging Gandhi’s inaction on the issue of eco-sensitive zones around forests, turned violent last week.
