Kolkata Police’s IG And SP Rank Officers Summoned By CBI
Kolkata Police’s IG and SP rank officers summoned in an animal trafficking case.
An official of the Central Investigation Agency CBI said that in the animal trafficking case, CBI has summoned officers of IG and SP rank of Kolkata Police.
According to the information, both the senior officers were informed about their appearance on Monday. Earlier, authorities on Saturday issued a lookout notice against Bijay Mishra, the brother of Trinamool Congress (TMC) leader Binay Mishra, in the animal trafficking case.
At the same time, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) also named Binay Mishra as a co-accused in his supplementary charge sheet filed in the animal trafficking case last month.
Officials said Binay Mishra is considered very close to the Chief Minister of West Bengal and Trinamool supremo Mamata Banerjee’s nephew Abhishek Banerjee.
In its charge sheet filed before a special CBI court in Asansol, West Bengal, the agency has already absconded Binay Mishra. At the same time, the agency can also seek help from Interpol for not cooperating in the investigation.
On 18 February, the CBI filed a charge sheet in the case against Border Security Force (BSF) commandant Satish Kumar and six others for their alleged involvement in an animal-trafficking racket operating along the India-Bangladesh border.
At the same time, the Central Investigation Agency has recently questioned Abhishek Banerjee’s wife Rujira and sister-in-law Maneka Gambhir in a case related to coal mining and illegal mining of mines of Eastern Coalfields Limited.
