Manimahesh Yatra: The holy Chaddi leaves for the lake, know when is the auspicious time for the royal bath.
The famous Manimahesh Yatra of Chamba district of Himachal Pradesh is going on at present.
Now the stick has been dispatched from Dashnam Akhara Chamba with a grand procession for the royal bath to be held in Dal Lake on 2nd September.
This Chadi Yatra was led by Chhadibardar and Mahant Yatindra Giri of Dashnam Akhara Chamba. Chief guest ADM Chamba Amit Mehra duly offered prayers in the temple of Lord Dattatreya Maharaj.
In the Chadi Yatra, along with the local monks, saints from different provinces of the country are registering their presence.
According to the information, the Chadi Yatra will reach Manimahesh Dal Lake after a walk of about a week and there will be a royal bath on September 2. The stick will also be bathed in the holy Dal Lake.
Earlier, after offering prayers on Friday, the procession from Dashnami Akhara passed through the Jansali market complex and reached Laxminath temple.
Where after some rest and rituals of worship, the yatra traveled towards its upcoming night halt at Radha Krishna Temple Julakadi.
During this, a large number of devotees got their heads bowed to see the holy stick.
SDM Chamba Arun Kumar said that administrative arrangements related to security and other facilities have been made along with the procession.
The Chhadi Yatra will leave from ashes to Dugerthi on August 28. After the night halt here, on August 29 morning, the Chadi Yatra will depart from Durgathi to Bharmour.
When is the Brahma muhurta of the royal bath?
After an overnight stay at Chaurasi Temple Bharmour, the stick will travel from Bharmour to Hadsar on 30th August for the onward journey.
After making a halt at Hadsar holy site, the yatra will leave from Hadsar for Dhanchhau on 31st August.
After making a night halt at Dhanchhau, the stick will move from Dhanchhau towards Manimahesh Dal Lake on 1st September.
Where after the night’s rest, on the day of Radhashtami on September 2, at four o’clock in the morning, in the Brahma Muhurta, the Dasnam stick will be dipped in the holy Dal Lake.
Devotees will be able to participate in the bath of Radhashtami.
Mahant Yatindra Giri of Dashnam Akhara Chamba told that this tradition is going on for centuries and the kings of Chamba also used to follow this tradition well.
This stick journey has also been mentioned in the 1000-year-old history of Chamba.
